Lyle Ray Reese
Lyle Ray Reese, 63, of Logan, died Sunday, Dec. 7,
2003, at a Phoenix, Ariz., hospital following a sudden
illness. Lyle was born April 1, 1940 in North Logan to
Lloyd and Cora Peterson Reese. He was the third of
four sons. Lyle graduated from South Cache High
School, then married his sweetheart Althea Sorensen
June 19, 1959 in the Logan Temple. Lyle served in the
Army reserve and began his career with Edward's
Furniture.
Lyle fulfilled many responsibilities as a faithful
member of the LDS Church. He served as a bishop in the
Mt. Logan 23rd Ward and as a member of the High
Council for the Mt. Logan Stake. Lyle and Althea
served 7 years as Temple Officiators in the Logan
Temple.
Lyle and Althea loved to travel. Their trips included
travels in Europe, Russia, New Zealand and Australia.
Lyle enjoyed drawing and painting. Lyle was kind,
studious and thoughtful. He loved to spend time with
his children and grandchildren. Lyle had a great sense
of humor and had fun telling stories, playing game,
and amusing those around him. He was a hard worker and
was a wonderful provider for his family. He was a
great neighbor and friend. His smile and laugh could
instantly light up a room. Lyle will be most missed as
a husband, father, grandfather, brother, in-law,
uncle, church leader, neighbor, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Althea of Logan, daughter,
Marcile R. Staub of Tulsa, Oklahoma, son, Craig L.
Reese of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and seven grandchildren:
Danielle, Trevor, and Christopher Staub of Tulsa, OK
and Austin, Zachary, Chancelor, and Tyson Reese of
Idaho Falls, ID. He is also survived by his brothers,
Sheldon and Dennis Reese of Logandale, NV and James
Reese of Logan, UT.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Friday, Dec.
12, 2003, at the Mt. Logan Stake Center, 600 East
Center. A viewing will be held in his honor from 6-8
PM on Thursday, Dec., 11 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary
and from 10:30-11 :45 AM prior to services on Friday
at the church. Internment will be in the Smithfield
Cemetery.
