Louise Schmidt Steiner
Louise Schmidt Steiner, 94, passed away on
December 22, 2003 at Mayberry Assisted Living
Homes in Roy, Utah, from causes incident to age.
She was born on May 23, 1909 to Phillip and Regina
Schmidt in Staffel, Germany. She
came to America in 1920 and lived in Chicago for a
year. Then she moved to Logan, Utah where
she spent most of her life. She was a member of the
L.D.S. Church. She had a number of
callings in the church.
She married Otto Steiner on September 20, 1934 in the
Logan Temple. He died on July
27, 1995. In their latter years of life, they enjoyed
doing temple work together for their ancestors.
Mother loved gardening and she always grew a large
garden and had beautiful flowers.
She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and reading,
which she spent much time doing in her latter
years.
She is survived by one son and three daughters;
Marlene Vigh of South Ogden, Utah,
RaNae Nielsen (LaVon) of Hyrum, Utah, DeVon Steiner
(Sheila) of Bountiful, Utah, but
currently serving as missionaries in Louisville,
Kentucky, and Linda Pitcher (Larry) of Cornish,
Utah. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 37
great-grandchildren.
We would like to thank the staff at Mayberry Homes
for the kind and loving care they
gave her for the past year and a half, and for the
tender care they gave to her during her last days.
We would also like to thank Hospice Vista Care for
making her last days more comfortable.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto
Steiner, son-in-law, Paul Vigh, grandson,
Brian Nielsen, her parents, and eight brothers and
sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December
27, 2003 at 12 Noon at the Allen-
Cranney Mortuary Chapel, 420 East 1800 North, North
Logan, Utah. A viewing will be held
prior to services from 10:30-11:45 AM. Interment will
be in the Logan City Cemetery.
