Marjorie Chapman Stanger
LOGAN, UTAH: Marjorie Chapman Stanger, 86, died
Sunday, June 1, 2003 in Logan.
She was born April 11, 1917 in Manassa, Colorado a
daughter of George Graham and Ursula Boice Chapman.
She married Clarence A. Stanger on January 24, 1940 in
the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died in 1968.
She graduated form High School in Riverside,
California in 1936 and attended business school in Los
Angeles, California. She worked for Ore-Ida Foods in
Burley, Idaho and was working for Kwik Kafe Vending in
Boise, Idaho when she retired at the age of 73. She
was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day Saints. She served a mission for the church
to the North Midwestern States. Other church service
included: Junior Sunday School Coordinator, Pianist, a
leader in the Mutual, worked in the Relief Society and
also served as a Single Adult Representative. She
served the Hansen community as the PTA President and
as a 4-H Club leader.
She is survived by three daughters, Myrna Kay and
Cliff Henderson, Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada;
Claudia Wilson, Boise, ID; Lorene and Drew Orgill,
Logan; grandchildren, Tony Vermillion, NY, NY; Andrea
and Grant MacKenzie, Ponoka, Alberta, Canada; Michael
and Amber Wilson, Boise, ID; Tracy Wilson, Boise;
Lindsey Orgill, Logan, four great grandchildren, a
brother, Don Chapman, Bishop, CA. She was preceded in
death by a daughter, Patricia Vermillion and a sister,
Mildred Carner.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, 2003
at 12:00 pm in the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East
Center, Logan with Bishop Boyd Rowley conducting.
Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday evening
from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to services. Interment
will be on Friday at 11:00 am in the Sunset Memorial
Cemetery in Twin Falls, Idaho with Morgan Stanger
conducting. Online condolences may be sent to the
family at Allen-Hall Mortuary
The family would like to express their gratitude to
the nursing staffs of wing 1 and wing 3 of the
Sunshine Terrace for the kind and tender care that was
given Marjorie while she resided there.
