Morris H. Wright
Morris H. Wright, 90 years old, passed away in Tucson,
Arizona on April 17, 2004. He was born on the family
farm in Paradise on July 27, 1913 and grew up in
Logan. Mr. Wright graduated from Utah State
University in Accounting and went on to earn a Master
of Business Administration with Distinction from the
Harvard Business School. He is a life member of Sigma
Chi Fraternity.
Mr. Wright lived in Cleveland, Ohio for fifteen years
where he rose to Vice President and Director of the
Weatherhead Company. He moved to New York in 1958 as
a general partner of Kuhn Loeb and Company. Following
the merger with Lehman Brothers, he became a Managing
Director and, later, Advisory Director until his
retirement in 1978. He is a past director of Air
Products and Chemicals, N.L. Industries, Interlake,
Inc., Acme Steel Company, International Pacific
Security Company of Hong Kong, Harvey Aluminum Co. and
Brush Wellman Corporation.
Mr. Wright is a past president of the Harvard Business
School Club of Cleveland, Harvard Business School Club
of New York, and the Harvard Business School Alumni
Association.
After his retirement, he became a resident of East
Hampton, NY. For the past 15 years Morris and his
wife Loree have been winter visitors to Tucson, where
Morris operated a small Arabian horse ranch.
He is survived by his wife, Loree McGee Wright,
daughter, Polly (Fancher) Murray of Draper, Utah, son,
John M. Wright (Laraine) of Belmont, Massachusetts, a
half brother, Howard Close, of Ogden, Utah, nine
grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. His son,
David, passed away at the age of 15.
Funeral services will be held at Allen-Hall Mortuary
at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 24th. The family
requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made
to a favorite charity in his name.
