Shirley Baugh Webber
LOGAN, UTAH: Shirley Webber passed away at her home
on May 12,2003 following a recent
illness.
Shirley was born on August 18, 1928 in Tooele, Utah,
to Harry and Lucy Gillespie. She was a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She
resided in Tooele through her high school years
enjoying her family and many friends.
In the fall of 1946, Shirley moved to Logan to attend
Utah State University. At that time she joined Alpha
Chi Omega Sorority and met her husband, Dean Baugh,
who had recently returned from World War II. They were
married on Oct. 25, 1947. Together they had two
children, Patty and Kent.
Along with being a supportive mother and wife, Shirley
worked in the mortgage and loan business. She began
working for Utah Mortgage Corporation part-time in
1956. She retired from First Security Realty Services
as the Senior Quality Control Officer in 1984.
Following the death of her first husband, Dean,
Shirley married Dale Webber on March 22, 1980.
Together they enjoyed winters in St. George as well as
golfing and traveling.
Shirley was an enthusiastic supporter of athletics
both at Logan High, where her son participated, as
well as Utah State University, where she established
the Dean Baugh Athletic Scholarship. She enjoyed
golfing and was past-president of the LGCC Ladies
Association. A civic interest of Shirley's was the
American Cancer Society, for which she was a former
Crusade Chairman.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and first
husband, Dean Baugh. She is survived by her husband
Dale Webber; children Patty (Clark) Willis and Kent
(Valarie) Baugh; grandchildren Brandon Willis, Deana
(Joshua) Campbell, McCall Baugh, and Tate Baugh;
great-grandchild Conner Campbell; and extended family.
The family would like to express appreciation to IRC
Hospice for their care as well as the support extended
to her by her husband, Dale, and many loving friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, May
17,2003 at the Logan Twenty-Fourth Ward, 1260 North
1600 East, Logan. Friends may call Saturday from 10:00
a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the Logan Twenty-Fourth Ward.
Burial will be in the Logan Cemetery. Online
