Harold Wallace Baumgarner
Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Harold
Wallace Baumgarner, 74, graduated from this life to
be with his bride on the other side unexpectedly
Monday morning, November 17th, because of
complications due a heart-attack. He was born the
youngest child, to Ralph Jacob and Nina Vera
Baumgarner in Dennison, Iowa, on January 4, 1929.
For the last 40 years, he has always boasted of living in
Hyrum within the beautiful Cache Valley, which he
loved, even though a great deal of childhood was spent
in Gainesville, MO.
He was a good neighbor and friend
to all in his quiet way touching the lives of many in
whom he came into contact with, rendering many acts of
service. He was particularly faithful in working and
officiating with Group 3 at the temple 2 days a week
or as needed for the last 12 years. He was actively
involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints in many capacities throughout his life that
included: Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Pres.,
High Priest Group Leader, Public Relations Director,
Stake Missionary to name a few.
He is survived by his children: Fred (Ginna) Zaman,
Daniel Baumgarner: six daughters, Betty (John)
Thompson, Sandra (Charles) Nance, Linda (John) Love,
Margaret (Eric) Nielson, Kathryn (Doug) Orton, Robyne
Baumgarner: grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren;
Wanda (Dale) Beardshear, sister and Elwood (Eunice)
Baumgarner, brother; and a large extended family.
Harold was preceded in death by: his son, Richard;
his parents; a sister, a granddaughter and grandson.
Harold was well-known for his love of his pet dogs,
currently Teddy Bear and Berkley, who will miss him
terribly. How he loved to take them for rides in the
car and in his younger days for walks up Main street.
He also delighted in feeding the ducks & geese at a
favorite pond in Wellsville.
Funeral services will be at noon on Monday, November
24, 2003 in the Hyrum 5th Ward Chapel, 200 West Main
Street, Hyrum. A viewing will be held on Sunday
evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall
Mortuary, 34 E. Center St., Logan, and at the church
on Monday from 10:30 to 11:45 AM. Interment will be
in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
